WHA immediately suspends contractor operations at WHA ESIE 5 in Rayong following a loud noise incident, launching an investigation and community assistance measures.

RAYONG, Thailand – WHA Industrial Development has immediately suspended its contractor’s operations at the affected area of WHA Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate 5 (WHA ESIE 5) in Rayong following a loud noise incident during site preparation. The company said the suspension covers approximately 136 rai at the incident site, out of the 3,402-rai Phase 1 development. Other areas of the industrial estate will continue development according to schedule.

WHA said it is cooperating fully with the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), Rayong provincial authorities and other relevant agencies to inspect the site and assess the situation. A special response team has also been deployed to survey nearby homes, assess potential damage and provide assistance to affected residents. The company has established a community coordination center and an emergency complaint channel to receive reports and monitor assistance.


WHA has also formed an investigation committee to review the contractor’s work procedures. If any violations of safety measures or operating standards are found, the company said it will take action in accordance with its contracts and applicable laws. The company has further instructed contractors and customers operating in construction areas to strictly follow legal and safety requirements. Construction activities involving explosives must receive the required approvals and comply with legally mandated standards.

WHA said development of WHA ESIE 5 began in March 2025 and emphasized its commitment to safety, responsible business practices and the well-being of surrounding communities. The company pledged to strengthen preventive measures and urgently address the issue, stressing that it will do everything necessary to prevent a similar incident from happening again.
