
PHANG NGA, Thailand – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, along with Deputy Minister of Transport Sanphet Bunyamanee, inspected major transport projects in Phang Nga Province on August 22. They directed agencies to accelerate implementation to better meet local needs. The delegation began their visit at the Ban Nam Khem–Ko Kho Khao ferry pier in Bang Muang Subdistrict, Takua Pa District, then traveled by vehicle ferry to Ko Kho Khao Pier. They were welcomed by Phang Nga Governor Pairat Petchyuan, provincial officials, local administrators, lawmakers, and agency representatives.
The ministers reviewed the feasibility study for a bridge linking Ko Kho Khao and met with officials and residents to discuss project updates, local conditions, challenges, and community needs. The delegation then met local representatives at Khok Kloi Municipality in Takua Thung District. The Department of Highways, Department of Rural Roads, and Marine Department presented updates on major transport plans. Officials reported on the Khok Kloi–Thai Mueang Community Comprehensive Plan, and private-sector representatives outlined local concerns and proposals.
The ministers instructed agencies to expedite projects and deliver results that address public needs. They then inspected the planned urban roads Kh.4 and Kh.5 as part of the Khok Kloi Community Comprehensive Plan. The delegation also visited Tha Nun Monastic Residence to discuss permission for religious use of land managed by the Department of Highways. Officials reviewed the site’s background, relevant regulations, and legal constraints before meeting residents and receiving their recommendations. (NNT)
