Culture Minister Sabeeda Thaised met industry leaders to discuss expanding Thailand’s film and creative sectors, with plans to boost international exposure, support local talent, and promote tourism through entertainment and cultural content.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Culture Minister Sabeeda Thaised recently met with representatives from Thailand’s film, entertainment, and creative content sectors to discuss strategies to expand the country’s creative industries and increase their international presence. Participants included executives from the Thai Film Directors Association, the National Federation of Motion Pictures and Contents Associations, and other industry organizations. The discussions involved measures to improve the competitiveness of Thailand’s film sector, including support for a new Film Act, easing regulatory obstacles affecting small-scale cinemas, expanding opportunities for Thai films in international markets and festivals, and increasing cooperation between agencies.



Minister Sabeeda also met with representatives of Handmade Club Co., Ltd., who presented proposals to use films, entertainment productions, events, and concerts to promote tourism and showcase Thai culture. Proposed projects included a travel documentary series featuring destinations across Thailand, international promotional films, and entertainment events aimed at attracting visitors while promoting Thai talent. The Ministry of Culture said it will continue supporting the film and creative content industries through policy development, regulatory improvements, talent development, and expanded access to international markets. (NNT)
