BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand is stepping up its efforts to capture the premium MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) market through a new collaboration between the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB). Under the “Thailand Power Up” campaign, the two agencies will roll out support packages for international meeting and incentive travel organizers between October 2025 and July 2026, with the goal of drawing 65,000 travelers and generating an estimated 4.29 billion baht ($132 million USD).
The campaign provides both financial and non-financial support to qualifying events, with requirements that include a minimum of 100 participants from long-haul markets or 200 from short-haul markets, and a stay of at least four nights in Thailand. Eligible venues must meet both Thai legal requirements and the Thailand MICE Venue Standard (TMVS), and applications must be submitted at least 30 days before the event. Non-financial support will include community-made souvenirs, premium lane airport services, cultural performances, and government coordination to enhance the overall experience for attendees.
In addition to the campaign, TAT and TCEB will co-host inVOYAGE Global 2026, a luxury incentive travel and events networking platform originally from the UK. Scheduled for April 17–20, 2026, at The Peninsula Bangkok, the event will be attended by at least 200 senior MICE professionals, with the majority of delegates coming from Europe and North America. The program will feature one-to-one business meetings, educational sessions, immersive local experiences, and networking activities.
The partnership will also drive international marketing through a series of roadshows planned for 2026 in key markets, including China, Taiwan, Korea, Germany, the UK, the CIS, and Kazakhstan. These events will connect international buyers with Thai operators, expand business opportunities, and strengthen Thailand’s profile in the global MICE industry.
According to the two agencies, the collaboration is set to elevate Thailand’s presence as a premium destination, combining luxury experiences with world-class infrastructure to deliver economic benefits and enhance the country’s reputation as a leading MICE hub. (NNT)
