Thailand’s Excise Department has introduced the new “Wine Fast Track” digital declaration system at Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueang International Airport to speed up customs processing for travelers bringing more than one liter of wine into the country for personal, non-commercial use.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Excise Department has launched the “Wine Fast Track” digital declaration system for wine imports at Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueang International Airport to speed up processing for travelers bringing wine into the country.

The system became effective on May 11 and applies to travelers carrying wine in quantities exceeding one liter but not more than 10 liters for personal samples or non-commercial use. The platform was developed in cooperation with the Customs Department to reduce paperwork, improve data accuracy, and shorten processing times through digital procedures.

Under the system, travelers can check product values, excise taxes, customs duties, value-added tax, local taxes, and related fees in advance before arriving at customs checkpoints. After submitting information online, passengers carrying wine above the tax-free limit must proceed through the “Goods to Declare” or red channel, where officials will verify information, collect duties, and issue excise stamps for the bottles.

The Wine Fast Track system is available on the Excise Department website at www.excise.go.th and https://winefasttrack.excise.go.th, with Android mobile app access currently available and iOS support expected later. Authorities also reminded travelers that alcoholic beverages not exceeding one liter remain exempt from taxes and may proceed through the “Nothing to Declare” or green channel. (NNT)
