KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul arrived in Malaysia on July 9 for an official visit, where he was personally welcomed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) by Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The two leaders inspected a guard of honor before traveling together to Perdana Putra in Putrajaya for the official welcoming ceremony and bilateral talks. The visit is expected to involve plans to expand cooperation in trade and investment, logistics, transportation connectivity, agriculture, tourism, and border development. Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek said the discussions will create more opportunities for Thai businesses, farmers, exporters, and workers while increasing access to the Malaysian and wider regional markets.
The leaders are also scheduled to discuss cooperation on security, transnational crime, human trafficking, and online scams, as well as coordination within ASEAN. The agenda includes a private meeting between Anutin and Anwar, followed by full bilateral talks, the exchange of a memorandum of understanding on agriculture, and a joint press conference. Anwar will host an official luncheon for the Thai delegation, while Anutin has been scheduled to meet representatives of the Thai private sector in Malaysia to discuss trade, investment, and business opportunities between the two countries.
