Thailand and China exchange Chinese New Year good wishes and blessings

Mr. Yang Xin, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha to give the Prime Minister blessings on occasion of the 2021 Chinese New Year.

Bangkok – Mr. Yang Xin, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha to give the Prime Minister blessings on occasion of the 2021 Chinese New Year. Government Spokesperson Anucha Burapachaisri disclosed gist of the meeting as follows:



The Prime Minister welcomed Mr. Yang Xin, and conveyed his well wishes to President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang, as well as members of the Chinese Government, Chinese people, and Thai people of the Chinese descent for this auspicious occasion.

Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy expressed appreciation toward the Prime Minister, and also conveyed well wishes of President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang to him and spouse. He also wished the Thai people happiness. Even though the year 2020 has been hard for most, Thailand-China relations remain dynamic with mutual cooperation being unceasingly forged.


The Prime Minister commended China for its success in curbing the spread of COVID-19, and affirmed Thailand’s readiness to cooperate with China in all aspects, especially economic and social recovery as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy also expressed pleasure on an increase of Thai-Chinese mutual trade and investment value in 2020.


The Prime Minister stated that the Thai Government strives to acquire COVID-19 vaccine to cover at least 50% of the population at the initial stage. Mr. Yang Xin also informed that the Chinese Government has made approval for SINOVAC vaccine to be exported to Thailand as soon as possible as earlier agreed.
Both parties also congratulated and were pleased with economic cooperation between the two countries, i.e., E-commerce, EEC, Thailand 4.0, and Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG). (Thaigov.go.th)
