BANGKOK, Thailand – Their Majesties the King and Queen attended the premiere of the SUPPORT Foundation’s 2026 Khon production, Sida, at the Thailand Cultural Centre in Bangkok on November 1, 2026. Their Majesties were welcomed by Air Chief Marshal Satitpong Sukvimol, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the SUPPORT Foundation, Minister of Culture Sabeeda Thaised, Department of Cultural Promotion Director-General Chotika Akkarakitsobhakul, and foundation representatives.

During the ceremony, two young performers portraying Phra Mongkut and Phra Lop presented commemorative programs and souvenirs to Their Majesties. The King and Queen also viewed a tribute dance and a behind-the-scenes presentation highlighting the production’s preparations. Based on the Ramakien, composed by His Majesty King Rama I, the performance follows Lady Sida’s journey from her birth and marriage to Phra Ram through her exile, abduction by Thotsakan, and trial of innocence.

The production features elaborate costumes, traditional choreography, and stage designs inspired by Thai heritage, including a royal wedding scene influenced by murals at the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Following the performance, royal bouquets were presented to National Artists and representatives of the production team and performers.

The production honors the royal legacy of Her Late Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother in preserving traditional Thai performing arts. It also commemorates Her Majesty the Queen’s 48th birthday anniversary. The SUPPORT Foundation’s Khon production, Sida, runs from November 5 to December 10, 2026, at the Thailand Cultural Centre.
