BANGKOK, Thailand – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced “THAI T’REASURES by Amazing Thailand,” a campaign that reimagines Thai cultural assets as contemporary fashion and tourism experiences and positions Thailand as a global fashion tourism destination. The event will be held September 18–20, from 3 to 10 p.m. at River Park, ICONSIAM. It will unite experienced and emerging designers, artists, students, textile producers, jewelry businesses, and local communities.
TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool stated that the initiative will showcase Thai textiles, jewelry, handicrafts, and local expertise through contemporary designs that appeal to younger Thai and international audiences. The program aims to connect fashion with destinations, communities, and local identities while generating income for Thai producers and entrepreneurs. Highlights include fashion shows by leading Thai brands and emerging designers, student showcases, and the “WEAR THE DESTINATION” exhibition, which features 10 textile journeys across Thailand linking local fabrics with destinations and community lifestyles.
The TAT × THAI DESIGNER COLLABORATION will present three prototype collections: RAVIPA’s “Faith to Fashion” Naga-inspired jewelry, PREMIUM POPS × TRK’s “Art to Journey” multifunctional fashion items, and THITHA’s “Waste to Worth” clothing made from discarded silkworm cocoon materials.
TAT aims to advance fashion tourism by connecting design with materials, craftspeople, production communities, and destinations, transforming Thai products into travel experiences. The agency expects the project to generate at least 100 million baht in revenue while supporting communities and Thai entrepreneurs. The campaign aims to distribute income directly to grassroots producers and strengthen Thailand’s position in the international fashion tourism market. (NNT)
