Thai Sports Minister attends Olympics opening

Japanese emperor Naruhito and national leaders will be at the opening ceremony of Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Mr Phiphat, as the representative of the Thai government, left for Tokyo yesterday.



Tomorrow (July 24), Mr Phiphat will cheer on two Thai taekwondo athletes at ringside. Thailand will be wishing for its first gold medal tomorrow when its boxers will also perform.

Tokyo Olympics were set from July 23 to Aug 8. Forty-one Thai athletes take part in 16 sports namely shooting, skeet shooting, sailing, canoe/kayak, rowing, surfing, table tennis, taekwondo, badminton, horse riding, cycling, boxing, judo, golf, swimming and athletics. (TNA)
