MOSCOW, Russia – Thai Cultural Night in Moscow 2026 presented Thai music, performing arts, textiles, and traditional dress to international audiences while promoting closer cultural relations between Thailand and Russia. Organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow, the event followed activities under Russian Seasons 2026 and a memorandum of understanding on cultural cooperation between the two countries.
The program featured a joint performance by a contemporary Thai music ensemble from the Fine Arts Department’s Office of Performing Arts and the Igor Butman Quartet. The collaboration combined elements of Thai and Russian musical traditions while providing greater international exposure for Thai artists and opportunities for future cultural and creative-industry cooperation.
Culture Minister Sabeeda Thaised delivered the opening remarks while wearing a Thai Siwalai, one of the recognized styles of royal Thai dress, made of Lamphun brocade silk and complemented by a traditional sabai. She expressed appreciation for the interest shown by Thai and Russian audiences in traditional Thai attire and for their enthusiasm to see it presented more widely in Russia.
Sabeeda said cultural exchanges of this kind can support tourism, international networks, investment, and income generation while deepening people-to-people connections between Thailand and Russia. (NNT)
