NEW YORK, USA – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Suphajee Suthumpun and Minister of Digital Economy and Society Chaichanok Chidchob emphasized Thailand’s investment potential and balanced external economic policy after Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul met with major U.S. financial institutions and investment funds in New York. The discussions were held at Bank of America Tower on September 22, 2026, as part of the Prime Minister’s investment roadshow during his visit to the 81st United Nations General Assembly.

Suphajee noted that participants were interested in Thailand’s economic outlook, capital markets, investment policies, and relationships with both the United States and China. She reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to balanced, mutually beneficial economic relations and ongoing cooperation with all trading partners. She also emphasized the government’s commitment to fiscal discipline and policies that support investment and long-term economic growth.

Chaichanok stated that technology investors showed strong interest in Thailand’s digital infrastructure, such as data centers, and in environmental and sustainability initiatives. He noted that Thailand needs additional infrastructure investment and closer collaboration with universities to develop technology skills and expertise, supporting the country’s goal of becoming a regional technology and investment hub. Chaichanok added that Thailand’s aging population and declining birth rate may accelerate technology adoption and innovation, increasing industrial productivity and enhancing workforce skills to meet the demands of the modern economy.
