BANGKOK, Thailand – The Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA) and Airports of Thailand (AOT) have signed a memorandum of understanding to upgrade the water supply system at Suvarnabhumi Airport, moving to improve water quality, safety, and reliability for passengers and airport operations.
The MOU, signed by MWA Governor Suwara Tawichsri and AOT President Paweena Jariyathitipong, covers improvements to water management across the airport to meet international standards for cleanliness and safety, while strengthening system stability for long-term use. A reliable water supply is considered essential for both daily operations and passenger services at one of the country’s main aviation hubs.
MWA will provide technical support across the system, including analysis, water quality control, maintenance, and efforts to reduce water loss. The agency currently supplies tap water to more than 12 million people in Bangkok and nearby provinces under international safety standards.
AOT said the cooperation is expected to help raise overall service standards at Suvarnabhumi Airport, supporting hygiene, operational efficiency, and confidence among international travelers. (NNT)
