Royal Thai Army personnel conduct operations along the Thai–Cambodian border during recent security missions, as the army begins the process of nominating soldiers for royal bestowal of the Bravery Medal in recognition of their courage and sacrifice.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Royal Thai Army is moving forward with plans to seek the royal bestowal of the Bravery Medal for personnel who took part in recent combat operations along the Thai–Cambodian border, including Operation Yuttha Bodin in July 2025 and Operation Satthawat in December 2025. Both missions were conducted to safeguard national sovereignty and prevent cross-border incursions.

During these missions, army personnel operated under dangerous battlefield conditions that posed a constant risk to life and injury. Despite the challenges, the soldiers carried out their duties with discipline, determination, and courage while confronting hostile threats on the frontline.

Army Commander-in-Chief Gen Pana Claewplodtook has instructed the Directorate of Personnel (DOP) to coordinate with relevant units to prepare nominations for eligible service members. This includes proposals for fallen soldiers, ensuring that their sacrifices and service are formally recognized and honored.

The DOP is currently reviewing individual service records through an army-level selection committee in accordance with the Bravery Medal Act of 1978. Once the review is complete, the list of qualified recipients will be submitted to higher committees within the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters and the Ministry of Defense for further consideration and royal approval.
