BANGKOK, Thailand – A foreign tourist visiting Kaeng Krachan National Park in Petchburi province captured a rare black panther on camera, an unforgettable moment that highlights the thriving wilderness of Thailand’s World Heritage site.

Chief of Kaeng Krachan National Park Mongkol Chaipakdee reported that after the New Year holiday, a foreign visitor photographed a black panther as it descended from the Phanoen Thung area. The sighting gave visitors a memorable experience and highlighted the park’s rich wildlife.

The observation reaffirms the health and biodiversity of forest ecosystems in the Kaeng Krachan Forest Complex, a natural World Heritage site. The presence of the black panther, a protected species, is an important indicator of ecological balance and habitat quality.

The park chief noted that the sighting reflects ongoing conservation efforts and protection of forest areas by park officials. These measures have allowed wildlife to live safely and reproduce naturally in the protected area. (NNT)
