PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya is preparing to host the 12th “LOMA RUN ON THE BEACH 2026,” with more than 3,000 runners, supporters and tourists expected to attend and generate at least 15 million baht in local spending. Pattaya Deputy Mayor Krisana Boonsawat chaired a preparation meeting at Pattaya City Hall on Sept. 9, joined by HHN Foundation for Thai Children Deputy Director Siromes Akrapongphanich, event organiser Pirun Noi-imjai and representatives of relevant agencies.
The meeting focused on safety arrangements, traffic management and facilitating participants along the race route. Pattaya City and Pattaya Police are preparing officers at key points and will manage traffic systematically to minimize disruption during the event. This year’s race will take place around Dongtan Beach and Jomtien Beach, combining a sporting event with efforts to promote Pattaya as a destination for visitors seeking activities beyond the city’s traditional attractions.
Organizers expect more than 3,000 runners, accompanying family members and tourists to participate. The event is expected to generate at least 15 million baht for the local economy through hotel stays, restaurants, transportation, shops and other businesses. The competition will feature two distances. The 10-kilometre mini-marathon will accommodate up to 1,300 runners, while the 5-kilometre fun run will have capacity for 700 participants.
Beyond sport and tourism, organizers said the event also has a strong social purpose. After expenses are deducted, proceeds from the race will be used to provide educational scholarships for children and young people participating in programs run by the HHN Foundation for Thai Children. The organizers said the event therefore aims not only to create activity for Pattaya’s tourism sector but also to channel part of its benefits back into the community by providing educational opportunities for young people.
Race bib and shirt collection will be held on Sept. 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Jomtien Palm Beach Hotel. Race day will take place on Sept. 21 from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Dongtan Beach, Jomtien Beach, Pattaya. With the race beginning in the early morning, Pattaya authorities are preparing traffic and safety measures along the route to help participants while keeping disruption to local residents, businesses and other road users to a minimum. The event is expected to bring thousands of people into the Jomtien area during the morning, providing another major sporting and community event for Pattaya during the low tourist season.
