
BANGKOK, Thailand – Prince of Songkla University has been ranked among the leading global institutions in several subject areas, with its strongest performance in Hospitality and Leisure Management. According to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, the program sits in the 51–100 band worldwide, tying for the top position in Thailand.
The university also appears in the broad subject area of Life Sciences and Medicine, in the 451–500 band worldwide. This shows an improvement from 2025, when it was in the 501–550 band.
Four additional subjects are listed. Agriculture and Forestry falls within the 201–250 band and ranks fifth in Thailand. Medicine is in the 501–550 band and joint fifth nationally, while Chemistry places in the 601–700 band and joint sixth in the country. Biological Sciences is ranked 651–700 and ranks fifth in the country.
The QS assessment is based on indicators such as academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per paper, H-index, and international research network. The weighting varies by subject, depending on data availability and relevance.
The latest results show the university’s standing across multiple disciplines, with improvement in its broad subject category and a leading position in hospitality-related studies. (NNT)
