Prime Minister Anutin highlights medical governance and innovation at 2025 health conference

At the 2025 Annual Medical Council and Mahitala Dhibesra Institute Academic Conference, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul delivered a keynote on medical governance and sustainable healthcare, honored program graduates, and emphasized digital transformation, AI services, and initiatives like “Free Dialysis for All” to strengthen Thailand’s healthcare system.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul delivered a keynote address on “Medical Governance and Sustainable Development of Thailand” at the 2025 Annual Medical Council and Mahitala Dhibesra Institute Academic Conference on October 19. Held at Centara Grand at CentralWorld in Bangkok, the event also honored graduates of the 11th Executive Program in Medical Governance and the 2nd Medical Leadership Program. Attendees included Deputy Prime Ministers Borwornsak Uwanno and Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Public Health Minister Pattana Promphat, Energy Minister Auttapol Rerkpiboon, and senior figures from Thailand’s health and academic communities.

The Medical Governance Foundation presented honorary plaques to the Prime Minister and other officials in recognition of their contributions to public healthcare and administrative reform. In his address, Anutin recalled his time as a program alumnus and how the experience helped shape Thailand’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He cited the coordination of mass vaccination and the creation of field hospitals, such as Bussarakham Hospital, as key examples of effective crisis management.

The Prime Minister spoke about expanding healthcare through digital transformation, AI-driven services, and increased support for the aging population. He stressed the need for cross-ministerial cooperation to modernize healthcare infrastructure and improve service delivery, reaffirming the government’s plan to expand access to affordable, high-quality care across all regions.


Among the government’s priority programs is “Free Dialysis for All,” which seeks to ease the financial burden on families dealing with chronic illness. The Premier signaled continued support for private-sector partnerships to enhance Thailand’s medical services and position the country as a leading international health destination.

The academic conference, which saw a group of individuals being awarded certificates and achievement plaques for their contributions, featured research presentations by program graduates on a range of healthcare topics, including patient rights, service accessibility, health policy, and innovation.
