PM: Thai govt supports athletes at ANOC

BANGKOK, 7 November 2014 – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has said at the convention of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) held in Bangkok that Thais are encouraged to take up sport.

As Thailand has been chosen to host the ANOC this year, General Prayut said in his address to the ANOC convention, attended by 240 countries and sports ministers, that the Thai government has promoted sports and supported its athletes in every game. This is an opportunity for Thailand to raise international confidence in the Thai sport management.

Thailand also provides accommodation and the highest level of safety for those who join the games, said the Prime Minister. He also said he hoped the convention would lead to greater cooperation between nations and advancement in the sport industries worldwide.

The Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Convention is held from November 5th- 8th at Centara Grand, Central World.
