PM meets with World Bank’s Vice President for East Asia and Pacific

At the Government House, Ms. Manuella Ferro, Vice President, East Asia and Pacific at The World Bank, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Srettha Thavisin. Gist of the meeting is as follows:

The Prime Minister welcomed World Bank’s Vice President for East Asia and Pacific on occasion of her official visit to Thailand, He expressed confidence that her visit would be a good chance for Thailand and World Bank to work together into the future. Thailand’s hosting of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) would also be a platform to showcase the country’s identities, be it, arts, culture, and food, and to help stimulate Thailand’s economic and tourism activities.



Both parties also exchanged view on the issues of mutual interests, i.e., labor quality improvement policy, the country’s plan to attract global talents, educational policy, and water management plan. The World Bank’s Vice President for East Asia and Pacific affirmed her support on the exchange of financial knowledge and experts for the implementation of investment projects that will benefit the Thai people.



The World Bank’s Vice President for East Asia and Pacific also commended Thailand’s investment promotion policy to attract investment into sustainability projects, and the country’s non-alignment amidst the global conflicts. The Prime Minister affirmed Thailand’s principle as a “global citizen” through maintaining neutrality and friendly relations with all sides.
