NONTHABURI, Thailand – Bangkok police and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have raided an alleged illegal operation selling unregistered peptide injections promoted as appetite-control and weight-loss products, seizing goods valued at more than 52 million baht. The operation was carried out on September 11 by officers from the Children and Women Welfare Division of the Metropolitan Police Bureau in cooperation with the FDA. The raid took place at a rented house in Sao Thong Hin, Bang Yai district, Nonthaburi.
The investigation began after the police received a complaint from a parent who was concerned after discovering that her daughter had injected a product marketed under the name Haus of Peptide and feared it could be dangerous. Investigators subsequently found a social media account called “Hom Review Good Quality Products Only” advertising and selling the peptide injection products. Police contacted the FDA and jointly investigated the products, finding that the injections did not carry a registered drug number. Authorities said the suspected operation had been running for about a year. The group allegedly rented the house and hired foreign workers to pack the products before sending them to customers through private delivery companies.
According to investigators, the operation was shipping an average of about 100 boxes a day, with each box reportedly sold for 2,900 baht. This would represent estimated daily sales of around 290,000 baht, with police estimating that the operation generated more than 8 million baht a month. Each Haus of Peptide box reportedly contained one vial of the peptide injection, one vial of distilled water for mixing, five 1ml insulin syringes, instructions on how to use the product and alcohol wipes. Officers also seized additional packaging boxes and Haus of Peptide stickers, drug-use instructions, insulin syringes and alcohol wipes. The total value of the seized items was estimated at more than 52 million baht.
Police said the products were unregistered peptide injections being marketed for appetite control and weight loss, raising concerns over their safety and the absence of proper regulatory approval.
Authorities said the suspected conduct constitutes offences under Thailand’s Drug Act B.E. 2510 (1967), including selling modern medicines without a license, which carries a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment and a fine of up to 10,000 baht. The investigation will continue, with police and FDA officials examining the products, sales network and other parties potentially involved in the alleged distribution of the unregistered injections.
