BANGKOK, Thailand – The Transport Company Limited (BorKhorSor) reported heavy post–New Year travel as more than 120,000 passengers passed through Mo Chit 2 bus terminal on January 3, 2026. Managing Director Attawit Rakchamroen said 69,359 passengers arrived in Bangkok while 51,308 departed, with a total of 7,367 bus trips operated nationwide. Services were sufficient and no passengers were left stranded.

Morning congestion between 5:00–8:00 a.m. led to taxi shortages. BorKhorSor advised passengers to use free shuttle buses operating from Mo Chit 2 to BTS Mo Chit and Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal (Gate 2) between 3:00–7:00 a.m., as well as BMTA buses on 15 routes serving key areas across Bangkok. Authorities also coordinated with traffic radio services to increase taxi availability and improve queue management.

Passenger volumes on January 4 are expected to remain high, with an estimated 120,000 travelers using more than 6,000 bus services. (TNA)
