CHIANG MAI, Thailand – Ob Khan National Park in Chiang Mai has temporarily suspended all tourism and camping activities due to rising water levels in the Khan River. The closure was announced on May 25 via the park’s official social media channels, following continuous rainfall and increasing runoff from upstream areas.
Park officials reported rising water levels at the headquarters and nearby zones, prompting warnings to communities along the Khan River basin. Residents in San Pa Tong and Mae Wang districts were advised to stay alert, as these areas face a higher risk of flash flooding.
Rainfall recorded across various protection units ranged from 43 to 125 millimeters, with the highest level measured in Mae Sap subdistrict. The rainfall has raised concerns about flooding and safe access within the park.

Park officials continue to monitor conditions and will issue updates as necessary. Residents and travelers are advised to follow official announcements for the latest information. (NNT)
