
NAKHON RATCHASIMA, Thailand – Social Development and Human Security Minister Nikorn Soemklang has visited Nakhon Ratchasima province to advance support for vulnerable groups and strengthen welfare services across the province.
During the visit, Minister Nikorn inspected a Children and Family Home and the Baan Metta Shelter for the Homeless, where he met with staff and residents while reviewing ongoing care programs. The visit included the distribution of essential supplies and follow-up on services for bedridden patients and individuals with disabilities, as well as on vocational activities such as chemical-free farming and fish raising to support income generation.
Nikorn also announced plans to expand “Clean Air Room” technology across welfare institutions nationwide, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, to improve living conditions, especially for those in care facilities.
Nikorn called for a proactive approach in reaching underserved groups, including children, the elderly, and people living with disabilities. He also directed the deployment of mobile response units to remote areas and encouraged the use of data to guide decisions and track progress in improving quality of life. (NNT)
