
NAKHON PHANOM, Thailand – Deputy Minister of Transport Phattrapong Phattraprasit has launched the Nakhon Phanom Airport Full-Scale Emergency Exercise 2026 (KOP-EMEX 2026) to enhance aviation safety standards and increase passenger confidence. The opening ceremony took place on June 27, 2026, at Nakhon Phanom Airport. Attendees included Nakhon Phanom Governor Adisak Noisuwan, Ministry of Transport executives, government agency heads, and representatives from related organizations.
The exercise simulated two emergency scenarios: an aircraft accident within the airport and unlawful interference with operations. The drill involved cooperation among emergency medical teams from Nakhon Phanom Hospital and nearby hospitals, firefighting units, provincial police, military personnel from the 210th Military Circle, related agencies, and over 90 participants. The Deputy Minister presented certificates to participating agencies to recognize their cooperation and support the morale of personnel working to raise airport safety standards in line with international practices. The Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of preparedness in emergency response and incident management, noting that such exercises strengthen coordination among agencies and enhance confidence among airport users.
