PATTANI, Thailand – Deputy Commander of the Fourth Army Area and Deputy Director of ISOC Region 4 Forward Command Major General Korakot Phuchot has welcomed Minister of Education Prasert Jantararuangtong and his delegation during their visit to Pattani province to review education development in the southern border provinces. The meeting took place on June 27, 2026, at Sirindhorn Camp in Yarang district. The visit focused on overseeing the implementation of government education policies and collecting recommendations from local agencies.
The Minister stated that this visit followed earlier field inspections with the Prime Minister and demonstrated the Ministry of Education’s commitment to engaging with school administrators and related sectors. The goal is to enhance education in line with the area’s cultural context. He emphasized that education is a vital long-term tool for addressing challenges in the southern border provinces, improving the quality of life, and creating equal opportunities for children and youth.
Major General Korakot stated that the Forward Command views education as essential for developing young people with knowledge, morality, and the ability to live peacefully in a multicultural society. The command supports education at all levels, including public and private schools, pondok institutions, and other educational organizations, and regularly meets with teachers and education personnel to understand local needs. The Minister also received briefings from the Santisuk Task Force and the Peaceful Means Center on education-related operations in the area.
