BANGKOK, Thailand – The Ministry of Commerce, partnering with major retail and wholesale chains, has provided financial support to families of fallen soldiers who died during operations along the Thai-Cambodian border. The ministry distributed 960,000 baht in cash vouchers through the Royal Thai Army, with each bereaved family receiving 60,000 baht in assistance.

Commerce Minister Jatuporn Buruspat led the ceremony at Army Headquarters in Bangkok, accompanied by senior ministry officials and representatives from Big C, CP Axtra, Tops, Go Wholesale, and Robinson. Deputy Commander-in-Chief General Nattawut Nakanakorn and Army Spokesperson Major General Winthai Suwaree accepted the vouchers on behalf of the military.

The financial aid was offered to help alleviate economic hardship faced by families grieving loved ones who served in dangerous border areas. These soldiers were stationed to defend Thailand’s eastern frontier, where ongoing tensions have persisted in recent months.

The Ministry of Commerce has maintained a longstanding partnership with the Royal Thai Army on various cost-reduction initiatives, including the “Blue Flag” low-price fairs and campaigns to distribute essential items to both military personnel and civilians.

The contribution reaffirms the ministry’s ongoing solidarity with military families during their time of loss, providing both tangible assistance and acknowledgment of the profound sacrifices made in service to the nation. (NNT)
