NAKHON RATCHASIMA, Thailand – Minister of Social Development and Human Security Nikorn Soemklang opened the JOB AND MARKET FAIR 2026 for Persons with Disabilities in the Northeastern Region in Nakhon Ratchasima province. The event promotes employment, skills development, entrepreneurship, and expanded economic opportunities for persons with disabilities.

The event, themed “Creative Skills, Unlimited Opportunities,” takes place from September 12 to 13 at MCC Hall, The Mall Nakhon Ratchasima. The fair brings together government agencies, private businesses, employers, organizations of persons with disabilities, and partner networks. The event was also attended by Director-General of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Sonthaya Bunyaphusit and senior ministry officials.

The Minister stated that the initiative seeks to connect people with opportunities, skills with jobs, and creativity with markets. It supports a transition from welfare-based assistance to empowering persons with disabilities to realize their potential and participate in the economy. The fair emphasizes reskilling and upskilling to meet the demands of the evolving labor market, including digital skills, artificial intelligence, content creation, online marketing, e-commerce, and business management. It also promotes remote work, self-employment, and entrepreneurship as alternative career pathways.

Activities are organized into six zones: employment matching, rights and welfare consultation, assistive innovation and technology, an inclusive marketplace, practical career and digital skills workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions. Minister Nikorn stated that the ministry aims to develop the fair into a comprehensive platform that connects persons with disabilities to skills, technology, employment, markets, and business opportunities, supporting sustainable income and greater participation in Thailand’s economic and social development.
