BANGKOK, Thailand – The royal vehicle known as “James Bond,” a grey Volkswagen T4 bearing registration number 1D-0929, is used to convey the remains of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita to the Grand Palace. The vehicle holds a special place in the memories of the Thai people. It has previously been used in significant royal funeral ceremonies and served as a royal working vehicle for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great throughout many years of royal duties. Preserved in its original factory condition, the vehicle reflects His Majesty’s philosophy of simplicity and sufficiency.
