BURIRAM, Thailand – The 2nd Army Area has facilitated a field visit for international media to inspect areas in Buriram province damaged by recent cross-border attacks. Journalists from Al Jazeera and China Media Group (CMG) were escorted to Chan Thop Phet Municipality, where Cambodia’s BM-21 rocket strikes had damaged civilian homes and nearby infrastructure.

The media team surveyed the affected areas and met with local officials to gather up-to-date information on the situation. The visit provided journalists with an opportunity to observe conditions firsthand and assess the extent of the damage from artillery fire.

Reporters also spoke with affected residents to hear their experiences and document the humanitarian impact of the conflict, helping ensure accurate reporting and facilitate independent coverage of developments along the Thai–Cambodian border. (NNT)
