BANGKOK, Thailand – Bangkok is preparing to welcome art enthusiasts from around the world for Bangkok Art Biennale 2026, an international contemporary art festival featuring exhibitions at 11 cultural and urban venues across the capital. The fifth edition, themed Angels and Mara, runs from October 29, 2026, to February 28, 2027, offering visitors opportunities to explore art alongside the city’s cultural heritage and modern attractions.
Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool attended the festival’s opening reception at W Bangkok Hotel on October 26 and discussed how art attracts international visitors, encourages cultural exchange, and promotes Bangkok as a leading destination for art and cultural tourism.
Participating venues include Wat Arun, Wat Pho, Wat Prayurawongsawat, the National Museum Bangkok, Museum Siam, Silpakorn University Art Gallery, Bangkok Art and Culture Center, Alliance Française Bangkok, One Bangkok, CentralWorld, and Siam Paragon. These locations offer diverse settings for contemporary art while letting visitors explore different parts of Bangkok.
TAT is using the festival to promote meaningful travel experiences through its Healing Is the New Luxury tourism philosophy, allowing visitors to engage with local culture and support local communities. The event also contributes to Thailand’s creative economy and Bangkok’s reputation as a UNESCO Creative City of Design, while promoting sustainable tourism and opportunities for local businesses.
