First frost seen at Doi Inthanon

CHIANGMAI, November 7, 2013 Chiang Mai’s Doi Inthanon first sign of frost, which is also sign of the beginning of the cool season, has come quite early this year as it was spotted in the National park, attracting large number of tourists to the place. 

The temperature at the higher levels of Doi Inthanon that was recently recorded at four degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature of the grass and other flora dropped to zero degrees, creating the first frost of this year.

The frost has been observed for the first time along the trails to the mountain’s peaks. The phenomenon, which occurred quite early this year, caused excitement for the tourists.

According to the park’s officials, so far this year accommodation on Doi Inthanon has been fully booked until early next year.
