CHANTHABURI/TRAT, Thailand – Spokesperson for the Royal Thai Navy Rear Admiral Paraj Ratanajaipan stated that the Chanthaburi and Trat Border Defense Command facilitated the orderly and safe entry of 162 Thai nationals returning to Thailand at the Ban Laem Permanent Border Crossing on January 3, 2026.
Captain Prachya Hantiam, Commander of the Chanthaburi Marine Task Force, led the operation in coordination with the Royal Thai Police and the Immigration Bureau. The process was conducted in an orderly and secure manner, fully compliant with relevant laws, humanitarian principles, and national security requirements.
Thai agencies will thoroughly screen all returning nationals, including those deported by foreign authorities. This process involves reviewing the reasons for deportation, identifying any legal violations, and assessing possible connections to transnational criminal networks. All actions will be evidence-based and conducted fairly under the justice system.
All individuals will be screened and verified by public health authorities, immigration officials, and police to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
The Royal Thai Navy will continue to enhance border control measures at all checkpoints and natural routes to prevent illegal entry, infiltration by transnational criminal groups, especially cyber scam networks, and other security threats, in strict accordance with government policy.
