BANGKOK, Thailand – The first batch of the targeted oral cancer medication Imcranib 100 has been delivered to the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO), clearing the way for nationwide distribution through Thailand’s universal healthcare system. Deputy Government Spokesperson Ploytalay Laksameesangchan said the medication was produced by the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility under the Royal Initiative of the Chulabhorn Royal Academy and delivered to the GPO Distribution Center this week. The delivery follows the donation of 690,000 tablets of Imcranib 100 by Prof. Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana to the National Health Security Office (NHSO) in celebration of her birthday anniversary on July 4. The medication will be provided to patients under the Universal Coverage Scheme, expanding access to advanced cancer treatment.

The GPO, the NHSO’s principal pharmaceutical distribution center, will oversee the storage and delivery of the medication to hospitals nationwide. All procedures are being carried out in accordance with Good Distribution Practice standards to maintain the medicine’s quality, safety, and effectiveness. Imcranib 100 is a targeted therapy that inhibits tyrosine kinase activity and is used to treat several cancers, including chronic myeloid leukemia, Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia, gastrointestinal stromal tumors, and dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans.
