Court bans Pannika from politics for life over disrespectful to the monarchy Facebook posts

Serial petitioner, Srisuwan Janya filed the case with the National Anti-Corruption Commission in 2019 over Facebook posts on Pannika’s account, alleging that the photos were disrespectful to the monarchy.

The Supreme Court has delivered a ruling to ban core member of Progressive Movement Pannika Wanich’s right from running for election for good for breaching ethical standards as her Facebook posts were deemed disrespectful to the monarchy.

The court also prohibits her from holding any political position for the rest of her life.



After the court ruling, she affirmed to go ahead with other forms of political work and no one can strip her of the right to do so, which includes being a campaign assistant of the Move Forward Party in the future elections.

He claimed that she breached the ethical standards of a person with political position, which include respecting the monarchy.
