Chonburi launches cadmium waste transfer operation to Tak province

The process, which began at 9:30 a.m. on May 25 at Ifong Co., Ltd. in Khlong Kiu subdistrict, is expected to take approximately 28 days to complete.

Chonburi authorities have initiated an environmental operation to transfer a batch of cadmium waste back to Tak province under the supervision of Governor Thawatchai Srithong. The process, which began at 9:30 a.m. on May 25 at Ifong Co., Ltd. in Khlong Kiu subdistrict, is expected to take approximately 28 days to complete.

Officials affirmed that the transfer of the chemical waste would be conducted with strict adherence to environmental safety protocols, including the use of double-bagged packaging to prevent any leaks. Each container used in the transfer is loaded with up to 18 bags of waste, ensuring that the weight does not exceed 30 metric tonnes per trip. The cadmium waste transfer is planned to alternate with similar operations in Samut Sakhon province.


Overseeing the process were key officials, including Chonburi Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Deputy Director Col Chakkraphong Panmongkol, Chonburi Provincial Industrial Office Director Angsumalin Chatsuwanwaree, and representatives from various agencies.
