CHACHOENGSAO, Thailand – Thai authorities in Chachoengsao province have ordered the operator of an unauthorized Jewish cemetery to demolish its structures and exhume buried remains, giving the firm seven days to comply, officials said. The Bang Khla district office issued the order after determining the site operates without a permit and violates land-use rules governing proximity to public roads and water sources. Under standard procedures, the operator retains the right to appeal within 15 days, delaying immediate enforcement while legal options are reviewed.
Deputy Interior Minister Polapee Suwunchwee confirmed orders were issued to relocate three bodies, with a fourth under verification regarding its burial date. Surveillance cameras will be placed along access roads to prevent further unauthorized burials. The case has prompted broader official scrutiny. Investigators are probing Kan Chabad Co., Ltd.—which owns the Chachoengsao plot and property in Phuket—over potential nominee land ownership. The firm was established by three Israeli nationals with Thai citizenship.
