Cabinet acknowledges proposal on ‘Accessibility for all in Action (AAA)’

Radklao disclosed that the cabinet, in its meeting on May 21, acknowledge the report of the Senate Standing Committee on Social Development and Children, Youth, Women, the Elderly, the Disabled and the Underprivileged Affairs on ‘Accessibility for all in Action (AAA)’.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Radklao Inthawong Suwankiri disclosed that the cabinet, in its meeting on May 21, acknowledge the report of the Senate Standing Committee on Social Development and Children, Youth, Women, the Elderly, the Disabled and the Underprivileged Affairs on ‘Accessibility for all in Action (AAA)’.



The report outlines 6 proposals that the committee suggested the Government to implement. They are:

  1. Establishing the Accessibility for All Super Board
  2. Setting Government procurement policies to accommodate accessibility for all
  3. Adhering to the principle of ‘Comprehensive and Holistic approach to Accessibility’
  4. Initiating Accessibility Impact Assessments (AIA) in the Government’s megaprojects
  5. Promoting digital accessibility, and
  6. Continuous implementation of Government agencies and related agencies on “Accessibility for all in Action” in a bid to promote accessibility of the disabled persons and enable them to live an independent, dignified, and equal life



The cabinet assigned Ministry of Social Development and Human Security as core agency to scrutinize proposals of the Senate Standing Committee on Social Development and Children, Youth, Women, the Elderly, the Disabled and the Underprivileged Affairs, and identify the most appropriate guidelines on the matter before resubmitting to the cabinet for its consideration.
