BANGKOK, 31 July 2015 – The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) has adjusted public bus routes to avoid transport problems on Sunday 2 Aug, the major rehearsal of the Bike for Mom 2015” rally and on Sunday 16 Aug, the actual date of the event.

On both Sundays, roads from the Royal Plaza to the 11th Infantry Regiment of the Royal Guards will be blocked temporarily, covering Si Ayutthaya Road, Phaya Thai Road, Ratchawithi Road, Din Daeng Road, Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, Phahonyothin Road and other roads connected to them.

The road closure during the major rehearsal will start at 6 a.m. until 12 a.m. whereas it lasts twice longer from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday 16 August.

The bus routes adjustment was to ensure highest safety of HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn who will lead the biking event, as well as all participants.

The BMTA has set up the “Bike for Mom Coordinating Center” at its headquarters. Bus patrol officials will be deployed at crowded bus stops to facilitate passengers and manage traffic flow around each bus stop.
