(GMT+7) The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) advises visitors that overall weather and travel conditions in Bangkok and surrounding areas have improved. Bangkok’s major tourism areas and attractions have remained accessible to visitors, including Siam and Ratchaprasong, Chinatown (Yaowarat), Talat Noi and Song Wat, as well as the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Wat Pho and Wat Arun.
Visitors can travel around Bangkok and enjoy the city’s attractions, dining, shopping and other tourism experiences as usual. Travellers are encouraged to check current weather and transport information when planning their journeys.
Destinations across Thailand
Most tourism destinations across Thailand remain open and accessible and welcome visitors as usual. This includes destinations across the North, Northeast, Central region and South, such as Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Sukhothai, Nan, Khon Kaen, Buri Ram, Ayutthaya, Ratchaburi, Phuket, Krabi, Surat Thani and Hat Yai, among many others.
Some natural attractions and marine activities may depend on local weather conditions. Travellers planning these experiences are encouraged to check local information before setting out.
Airport and transport status
Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) have remained open and operational. The Airport Rail Link, Red Line, BTS Skytrain and MRT are operating, providing convenient travel across Bangkok and connections with the airports.
Thai Airways International has advised that it is clearing delayed baggage from recent operations at Suvarnabhumi Airport, with registered baggage being progressively delivered to passengers during the afternoon of 29 September. The airline has also cancelled selected domestic and international flights on 29 September, including services involving Khon Kaen, Phuket, Hanoi and Singapore. Passengers travelling with Thai Airways are advised to check their latest flight and baggage status directly with the airline before travelling to the airport.
