‘Bangkok Design Week 2023’ held in 9 areas with unique local culture until Feb 12

Atchaka Sibunruang, Executive Director of Creative Economy Agency (CEA) said nine areas with unique local culture were participating in the events, featuring 530 programs designed to promote tourism and to generate income for local communities.

The nine-day Bangkok Design Week 2023 runs until February 12 under the theme “urban‘NICE’zation”.

It is expected about 300 billion baht will be circulated during the events.

As Bangkok was listed as a creative city of design by UNESCO, the theme “urban’NICE’zation” is aimed at promoting the capital as a good place for living, doing business and travelling.

The activities are arranged in four categories, which are Showcase& Exhibition, Talk&Workshop, Creative Market & Promotion and Event& Program. Concerts, movie screenings and creative markets, selling design products are among the highlights.


Bangkok governor Chadchart Sittipunt said the creative art events are in line with the city hall’s monthly festival project, which will allow the new generation and young entrepreneurs to use their creativity and participate in local economy development.

The events are being organized at nine Bangkok zones including 1) Charoen Krung-Talat Noi, 2) Yawarat, Samyan- Siam, 3) Ari-Pradiphat, Phranakhon/Pak Klong Talat/ Nang Lerng, 4) Wong Wien Yai- Talat Phlu/ Klong San, 5) Bang Pho, 6) Prompong and 7) Kaset and others. (TNA)
