Chairwoman Praichit Jetapai presented the funds raised in the YWCA’s recent walk-run to Nongprue Mayor Mai Chaiyanit, who is leading the fundraising drive for the Glory Hut Foundation.

Glory Hut has been engaged in a battle with residents of the Lang Nern Community who cited everything from the fear of children being infected with AIDS to ghosts in their campaign to evict the charity out of their Pattaya-area neighborhood.

Nongprue sub-district has found the hospice a site in Tungkomtan-Man and has been trying to raise 5 million baht for the move since last year.

Deputy Mayor Suwat Ratchathawattanakul thanked the YWCA for its donation, saying the fundraising target has nearly been achieved.

The 2.5 rai of land needed costs 3.3 million baht and Nongprue has raised 2.5 million.

Funds can be donated to Bangkok Bank account number 289-0-84697-1. Call 081-308-1666 for more information.
