PATTAYA, Thailand – At around 12:20 a.m. on October 27, rescue officials were alerted that a person was trapped inside an elevator at a condominium on the railway road inbound to Chonburi, just before the Nong Yai intersection. Rescue workers quickly rushed to the scene.
Upon arrival, they found a 26-year-old Thai woman stuck in the elevator between the third and fourth floors of the building. Using rescue tools, officers pried open the doors and successfully freed her. Fortunately, she was not injured or suffering from a lack of oxygen.
The woman told rescuers that around 11:20 p.m., she was returning to her room and took the elevator as usual when the power suddenly went out, causing the lift to malfunction and get stuck midway. She called for help and waited inside for nearly an hour before being rescued.
After the incident, many online commenters shared their thoughts. One remarked, “A lesson learned — don’t let your phone battery die; there’s often no signal inside elevators.” Another added, “Elevators should have reliable emergency communication systems because sometimes even mobile phones can’t get a signal.”
