Pattaya firefighters carefully remove a 1.5-metre snake after it entered a stationery shop near Pattaya City School 7.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Staff at a stationery shop opposite Pattaya City School 7 received an unexpected visitor on July 16 when a medium-sized snake entered the premises, causing screams from startled students and staff and prompting the shop owner to call Pattaya firefighters for help.

At 9:18 a.m., Pattaya City Fire Station (Jomtien District) dispatched an inspection vehicle and trained personnel to the shop after being alerted about the reptile inside the building.

The shop owner said the snake’s sudden appearance surprised people inside the shop, with students and staff reacting in alarm as the reptile moved through the area. Fearing the situation could become dangerous, she contacted authorities for assistance. Firefighters safely captured the snake, which measured approximately 1.5 metres in length, and removed it from the area without reports of injuries.

Officials reminded residents and business owners not to attempt catching reptiles themselves, especially unfamiliar snakes, as improper handling can put both people and the animal at risk. Wildlife encounters can happen unexpectedly in urban areas, and trained personnel have the proper equipment and experience to safely remove animals while reducing danger to the public. Residents who encounter wildlife or require emergency assistance can contact Pattaya City Fire Station (Jomtien District) at 095-146-4221 or the Pattaya City Hall Hotline at 1337.
