NAKHON RATCHASIMA, Thailand — Two young women aged 20 and 17 were killed in a tragic multi-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle, a Mercedes-Benz, and a truck on Mittraphap Road in Sung Noen district on May 3.
Police from Sung Noen Police Station were alerted to the accident in front of a building materials shop in Makluea Mai subdistrict and rushed to the scene.
At the location on the inbound lane toward Bangkok, officers found a Mercedes-Benz and a 10-wheel truck stopped at the roadside with visible signs of collision damage. Approximately 10 metres away, a motorcycle lay overturned with the bodies of two female victims nearby.
The deceased were identified as Ms. Thanchanok, 20, and another teenage girl aged 17 (name withheld). Rescue workers from Sawang Sangtham Sung Noen Foundation assisted in transporting the bodies to Sung Noen Hospital for further procedures.

According to preliminary police findings, the motorcycle was travelling toward Sung Noen district when it lost control and crossed the median into the opposite lane. At that moment, a Mercedes-Benz driven by a man identified as Mr. Manat was travelling toward Bangkok and struck the motorcycle, causing it to overturn and throwing both riders onto the roadway.
Shortly afterward, a 10-wheel truck driven by Mr. Phitak, which was following behind the Mercedes-Benz, was unable to stop or swerve in time and ran over both victims, resulting in their deaths at the scene.
Authorities said they are continuing to investigate the sequence of events to determine the exact cause of the crash before proceeding with legal action. Further forensic and witness evidence will be used to clarify liability in the incident.
