A 17-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly robbing two Pattaya convenience stores of cash, whiskey and cigarettes.

The youth, whose name was withheld as he is still a minor, was captured March 31 in Si Racha. He reportedly works as a security guard at a Walking Street bar.

The suspect was identified from security camera footage at two Family Mart stores on Thappraya Road and Sukhumvit Soi 46/3. He allegedly left the first store without paying for two packs of cigarettes and a bottle of whiskey he was too young to buy legally.

The juvenile robber re-enacts his misdeed at the scene of the crime.

He was then seen on camera later taking more than 10,000 baht from a cashier at the other convenience store.

Police said the teen confessed to the robberies, saying he used the money to buy more booze. But he said he never used a weapon and only threatened the staff verbally.
