Pattaya – Pattaya Marine Department posted red warning flags to keep small boats ashore amid stormy seas.

As the remains of Tropical Storm Wipha washed over the East, waves reached four meters tall in the Gulf of Thailand.

Big boats were allowed to leave Bali Hai Pier Aug. 2, but small tourist boats had to cancel their voyages. Large tourist boats got extra scrutiny as well, with marine inspectors checking for adequate numbers of life vests and that boats were not overloaded.
