
PATTAYA, Thailand – Two people were injured after a speedboat collided with a cargo vessel in waters off Sriracha district on June 2, prompting a swift rescue operation by nearby boats and emergency responders. The Sawang Prateep Sriracha Rescue Center received an emergency report of the maritime collision in the Sriracha sea area, Chonburi province. Initial reports confirmed that a speedboat had struck a cargo ship at sea, leaving two crew members injured. Rescue coordination was immediately dispatched, with nearby vessels first responding to assist those involved before transporting the injured ashore at Koh Loy Pier in Sriracha.
Upon arrival, rescue teams provided first aid to the two injured individuals, identified as an 18-year-old speedboat driver and a 16-year-old crew member. Both sustained head injuries with lacerations but were conscious during initial treatment. Authorities confirmed that both injured parties were later transferred to hospital for further medical care. Marine police have been notified and are preparing to investigate the cause of the collision, including possible navigation errors, sea traffic conditions, and other contributing factors.
