BANGKOK, Thailand – Deputy National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Nirandon Lueamsri has formally informed National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet that he does not consent to being transferred to another government agency following the appointment of Pol. Gen. Samran Nuanma as Thailand’s next National Police Chief. In an urgent memorandum dated July 27, Nirandon cited Section 93 of the 2022 National Police Act, which states that a police officer may only be transferred to another government agency with the officer’s consent and if the receiving agency agrees to accept the transfer.
Nirandon, the most senior deputy national police chief responsible for legal affairs and investigations, noted that he still has two years remaining before retirement and believes his continued service within the Royal Thai Police would better benefit the organization. He highlighted his 37 years of service in the police force, during which he has held roles in investigations, crime suppression, and administration. He said he has consistently performed his duties with integrity and dedication while developing expertise in managing large-scale police operations and integrating operational and administrative functions.
Nirandon also pointed to his experience in introducing modern and secure technologies into police work, adding that he has never worked in another government agency and believes transferring during the final years of his career would not serve the public interest as effectively as remaining within the Royal Thai Police. He concluded by reaffirming that, in the interests of good governance and the efficient administration of the police force, he does not voluntarily agree to a transfer to any other government agency.
