PATTAYA, Thailand – Authorities are urging Songkran visitors in Pattaya to take precautions against extreme heat as Thailand enters its hottest period of the year, with temperatures expected to range between 37–41°C and even higher heat index levels during peak daytime hours.

Officials are advising tourists and locals taking part in water festivities and beach activities to stay hydrated, seek shade, and limit prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. First-aid points and basic emergency support are expected to be reinforced at major event and tourist zones to reduce heat-related illnesses.

Across the country, safety planning for the Songkran holiday includes monitoring vulnerable groups, improving access to drinking water, and ensuring emergency routes remain clear in high-traffic areas. Authorities are also encouraging responsible travel behavior, as fuel prices and travel costs may influence movement during the holiday period.

Pattaya, a major destination for both domestic and international tourists, is expected to see heavy crowds around beaches, nightlife areas, and island-hopping departure points. Officials say extra care is needed this year as prolonged outdoor activities combined with intense summer heat could increase health risks. Visitors are being reminded to plan outdoor activities earlier in the day or later in the evening, and to prioritize safety while enjoying the festival atmosphere.
